As a young artist, Philip Koch was inspired from painting abstractions to working in a realist direction after seeing the art of Edward Hopper.  Since 1983 Koch has had thirteen residencies in Hopper’s Cape Cod painting studio in S. Truro, Massachusetts. On display is a selection of paintings of the interior of the Cape Cod Hopper studio Koch painted on location.

Inkternal showcases the recent work of New York City based artists Sky Pape and Kari Lindstrom. Working within the historical context of sumi ink brush painting, the artists’ practices reflect clarity, simplicity, and contemplation. The resulting abstract images speak to our internal and external nature. Pape moves the material in new directions, and Lindstrom experiments by drawing with innovative technology.

The Knaves of Children’s Shakespeare Theatre present As You Like It (7:00 pm - 9:00pm)

“All the world’s a stage” in Shakespeare’s gender-bending comedy, AS YOU LIKE IT, performed by Children’s Shakespeare Theatre’s Knaves (kids ages 8-13). 

Two witty sisters leave a comfortable life at court to find the exiled Duke, who is living like Robin Hood with his merry men deep in the forest of Arden.  Along the way, while disguised as a boy and a shepherdess, they find mischief, music, and, of course, since this is a comedy, love and marriage.  Join us in the forest, where love reigns, fools are wits, and freedom is yours for the taking!

April 27 at 7pm - Gala Opening Special Pricing (includes reception after the performance) $25 adults, $15 kids
