The 3-Mile Run/Walk is a day of community involvement for a wonderful cause. The community will be donating the proceeds from the 3 Mile Run/Walk to:
BRENDA FAY is a loving mother and wife who has been battling breast cancer.
GABRIELLE DICARLO was diagnosed with cancer at the age of five and had to have a grueling 14-hour procedure to save her life.
KRYSTIAN SANTIAGO is a 13-year-old student at Fieldstone Secondary School who has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a disease with no known cure.
The Children’s Race will begin at 8:30 am and the 3-Mile Run/Walk will begin at 9:00 am. For more information or to register please call Town Hall at 845-429-2200 or visit www.townofhaverstraw.org or www.townofstonypoint.org. Please come out for a great cause.

Christ Church of Ramapo proudly presents the exquisite hand-work of the Heritage Quilters of the Hudson Palisades on June 3rd from 10am to 3pm in Suffern.
For more than 30 years, the Heritage Quilters have traveled around Rockland County, sharing one of this country’s most cherished, homespun traditions. The exhibit will feature a variety of quilts, including one that will be raffled off to benefit Hi-Tor Animal Shelter.
Visitors to this free exhibit will also be invited to view Christ Church’s historic collection of Tiffany memorial stained glass windows, and to enjoy refreshments and a sale of homemade foods and crafts. Indoors, the Christ Church thrift shop – Second Time Around – will be offering deep discounts on new and gently-used clothing, and a large selection of used housewares and books.

The Great Painted Paw Brigade | AUCTION! (1:00 pm - 3:00pm)

The Great Painted Paw Brigade is an ongoing public art project, installation, and auction that was created by the North Rockland Rowing Club as a fundraiser. A portion of the project proceeds will benefit the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center. Artists from around the region painted 17 cat and dog sculptures. Host businesses have displayed these works of art in their storefronts. The sculptures will go to auction this Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Union Restaurant in the Village of Haverstraw. Please visit www.paintedpawbrigade.com for more information about the project, the auction, and for a map to all the dogs and cats. This project is unlike any other public art project in Rockland’s history.

As a young artist, Philip Koch was inspired from painting abstractions to working in a realist direction after seeing the art of Edward Hopper. Since 1983 Koch has had thirteen residencies in Hopper’s Cape Cod painting studio in S. Truro, Massachusetts. On display is a selection of paintings of the interior of the Cape Cod Hopper studio Koch painted on location.

Inkternal showcases the recent work of New York City based artists Sky Pape and Kari Lindstrom. Working within the historical context of sumi ink brush painting, the artists’ practices reflect clarity, simplicity, and contemplation. The resulting abstract images speak to our internal and external nature. Pape moves the material in new directions, and Lindstrom experiments by drawing with innovative technology.
