Designed to compliment campers attending RoCA’s Tuesday-Friday Camp.  Spend Monday at Hopper House engaging in fun filled activities!  Work on a plethora of art projects, create nature inspired works in our garden, and exercise your acting muscles and perform on our outdoor stage! 

Each Monday campers will get two different activity sessions and enjoy a snack in the garden.  Campers will spend their Mondays learning, creating and having fun in the very home that famous painter Edward Hopper grew up in!

Fee: Non-members $180, Members $160.

As a young artist, Philip Koch was inspired from painting abstractions to working in a realist direction after seeing the art of Edward Hopper.  Since 1983 Koch has had thirteen residencies in Hopper’s Cape Cod painting studio in S. Truro, Massachusetts. On display is a selection of paintings of the interior of the Cape Cod Hopper studio Koch painted on location.

Inkternal showcases the recent work of New York City based artists Sky Pape and Kari Lindstrom. Working within the historical context of sumi ink brush painting, the artists’ practices reflect clarity, simplicity, and contemplation. The resulting abstract images speak to our internal and external nature. Pape moves the material in new directions, and Lindstrom experiments by drawing with innovative technology.

Joyce Kanyuk, will present her solo exhibition “People and Places in Watercolor” at the Piermont Fine Arts Gallery.  Featured in this exhibit are paintings of her travels in the Mideast and Mexico as well as New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Cape Cod, and Rockland County.  Through the use of bright transparent washes of watercolor Joyce transports the viewer to her favorite places. People in these paintings are portrayed as part of the landscape, while working or playing.  Gallery hours: Thurs, Sun, 1-6:00 pm, Fri, Sat, 1-9:00 pm

Saturday June 9th at 6 pm - Midsummer Night’s Dream - Tallman Park provides a perfect setting for siting back between the trees, under the stars and watching this dreamlike production put on by the Strange Bedfellows under the direction of Diana Green unfold. It’s 1967. The summer of love. Gender roles are changing, the drug culture is permeating society, and flower children are spreading their message of peace and love. A young girl, Hermia, has the audacity to choose a lover for herself and, in order to escape her mother’s wrath, she is forced to flee to the forest with her lover, Lysander. They are followed by friends and also a band of would-be actors. In the forest of freedom all these mortals cross over into the fairy realm and crazy things happen: transformations, new perspectives and new horizons open to them and they finally return to their town each with a new outlook and a brighter future.

Join the Strange Bedfellows for this crazy head-trip that lasts just one midsummer night, and see this wonderful Shakespearean comedy through a kaleidoscope of colors!

Host of the newly revamped legendary talent competition “Apollo Live,” airing on Centric this Fall 2012, a cameo in the number one box office film “Think Like a Man,” TV appearances on BET’s “Let’s Stay Together” and Vh-1’s “Single Ladies,” “The Royal Comedy Tour” and “No Sleep Till Brooklyn Tour,” starring in a straight to DVD film “C’mon Man,” out June 2012, and the year just started for actor/comedian Tony Rock. Being the brother of an established entertainer, Tony was able to successfully elude the shadows of his older sibling and step into his own limelight. Tony has proven himself as one of the most talented, well-respected entertainers in the business. After more than a decade of experience, Tony has proven himself as a skillful comedian, actor, and executive producer. Tony landed the Jada Pinkett Smith/Will Smith pilot for UPN “All of Us” and appeared as a recurring character in the TV hit series “Everybody Hates Chris”. Tony also found comfort on the big screen, playing roles in movies such as Will Smith’s, “Hitch” , “Three Can Play That Game” alongside Vivica A. Fox, and “Life Support” with veteran entertainer Queen Latifah. Tony stepped into the role as executive producer on projects such as The Funny Spot and The Tony Rock Project, both of which he also served as host. Outside of the lights-camera-action, Tony works tirelessly as the founder of the MyROCK Diabetes Foundation, a charity organization established in honor of his late father.
