Running concurrently with Max Greis, in our rotating hallway gallery.
As a young artist, Philip Koch was inspired from painting abstractions to working in a realist direction after seeing the art of Edward Hopper.  Since 1983 Koch has had thirteen residencies in Hopper’s Cape Cod painting studio in S. Truro, Massachusetts. On display is a selection of paintings of the interior of the Cape Cod Hopper studio Koch painted on location.

Inkternal showcases the recent work of New York City based artists Sky Pape and Kari Lindstrom. Working within the historical context of sumi ink brush painting, the artists’ practices reflect clarity, simplicity, and contemplation. The resulting abstract images speak to our internal and external nature. Pape moves the material in new directions, and Lindstrom experiments by drawing with innovative technology.

Details:

Joyce Kanyuk, will present her solo exhibition “People and Places in Watercolor” at the Piermont Fine Arts Gallery.  Featured in this exhibit are paintings of her travels in the Mideast and Mexico as well as New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Cape Cod, and Rockland County.  Through the use of bright transparent washes of watercolor Joyce transports the viewer to her favorite places. People in these paintings are portrayed as part of the landscape, while working or playing.  Gallery hours: Thurs, Sun, 1-6:00 pm, Fri, Sat, 1-9:00 pm

The Palisades Fair is not your typical local carnival.  There will be top entertainment from around the country offered free with admission.  The fair will feature spectacular shows free with admission, State Fair amusement rides including the Giant Wheel, Wave Swinger, Fireball and Super Loops, petting zoo, delicious fair foods and exciting games.

The Boulders’ 10-game homestand - their longest of the season - draws to a close as the Capitales are in for a Sunday matinee. It’s Bark in the Park day, as fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the park. After the game, kids 14-and-under are invited to run the bases, courtesy of Sports Authority.

Town of Ramapo Fireworks (6:00 pm - 11:00pm)

Location: Rockland Community College, 145 College Ave., Suffern, NY

Details:

The Town of Ramapo hosts its annual July 4th celebration with a free concert and fireworks on Sunday, June 24, at Rockland Community College in Ramapo.

Parking is also free for the party, which is open to the public and features music by the Cash Creek Band.

The Ramapo event is one of the largest July 4th celebrations in Rockland County. Bring your blankets to and lawn chairs to watch the show - gates open at 5:30 p.m. 

Celebration of “Liberty & Pride” – featuring: Skydivers, local entertainment, fireworks by Zambelli International and a live concert by the Cash Creek Band
