Chasing Edward Hopper (Weeklong Multi-Media Celebration) (10:00 am - 5:00pm)

From Calendar: Events Calendar

Location: 82 N Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960

Details:

Last year, the Hopper Happens Festival turned the streets of Nyack, his childhood home, into a multi-media celebration during the historic exhibit “Edward Hopper, Prelude: the Nyack Years.”  This year, Hopper House artist-in-residence, Kris Burns, will create a variety of temporary, pop-up installations in Nyack shops, empty storefronts and forgotten corners, featuring: life-size figures cropped from iconic Hopper paintings, “Hopperesque” portraits by local artists, and images of local residents captured during last year’s Hopper Happenings.  Burns will also project internationally renowned Hopper paintings on a new series of walls, windows, doors and buildings around the Village for residents and visitors to encounter unexpectedly.

She will also present a site-specific original short “Chasing Edward Hopper” that will further explore Hopper’s remarkable lasting influence and continued presence.
